I've got to go and check on the constituents... make sure things are in order.

I'm hoping for a half day on Wed. then run around on Thurs. and help with camp... Fri. wheel & spend the afternoon at Reg. on Sat. no official run for me toooo many folks... just cruise around.
There's never enough time to see everyone... but the Mayor abides... :D

The Mayor

More then likely I will only be out for saturday. Just let me know where we'll meet at and time. now I'm getting exited, and should probably put on my stiffeners and new joints before this.

Wait... what kind of "buddy" makes his buddy help him move on a weekend like TDS ??
You said "buddy" not friend...
Fri. is better than not at all...
When I move... I'm call'n you... buddy ;)

Curt

Well, I was guilted into committing to help a buddy move on the 2nd, so I may just try to head out friday after Work for a few hours.
Let me know when you plan on being there, i am always into a good day of play.Maybe i can get a friend or 2 to come out with me.

cant afford to fix the XJ (bell housing swap for slave cylinder) but fixed the TJ so ill be rawking the open/open TJ !

Ive been around the desert racing world for years now but to be honest im still pretty much a noob when it comes to the wheeling stuff. Ive never been to TDS before and im looking to go this year. What should I expect? What should I bring? Is there fuel stations relatively close by? etc etc...

Think Burning Man, only 4X4-centric and not as many hippies...

It's a very family friendly event. Expect about 2k+ Jeeps and other assorted 4X4's. There is plenty of room to camp just about anywhere.

The raffle after the 4X run is epic. First year I went with a buddy, he won a box of stuff worth about $1200... I won a set of tires last year.

Bring whatever you need to camp with and something to sit on, as the raffle usually takes a couple hours.

They have a huge vendor area set up. Don't bring credit cards or check books though unless you have a ton of money burning a hole in your pocket. It's like being 10 years old again and let loose inside Toys-R-Us. They sell food and drinks as well...

Last year they had a HUGE fireworks display. Not sure if they are doing that again this year.

There is a gas station/convenience store right there. It's pretty big and will have just about anything you forgot to bring. Oh, diesel too...

Come out, it's a blast.

And if you like to gamble, there is a casino nearby. Red Earth I think it's called...

I just got back from truckhaven...last night 60 MPH+ winds. It was as bad as I have ever seen it out there. That won't stop me from going again next weekend!

van and jeep need a bit of work and i have no time to do it, so i think i'm out.
