I have a 231 in my 96 XJ and I pop out of 4L under load. If I manually shift the TCase from underneath it stays in 4L. I'm guessing I need to adjust the linkage between the console shifter and the TCase but I didn't see anything obvious.
The problem is the rod is so rusty that loosening the bolt on the trunion does nothing to free up the rod. I sprayed it with PB Blaster and hot it with a hammer, nothing.
