replacing the entire injector harness

Have any of you replaced the entire injector wire harness? Mine is beat pretty badly, the plastic caps are broken so the clips aren't seating properly (had one break), and the rubber boots are torn (separated) so moisture is leaking into the connector from above, etc. I bought a full engine harness from a local part-out and have separated the injector wires from the throttle body/coolant/o2 sensor wires on that, took a couple of hours, I really hate the idea of doing that while laying on top of the engine bay. Looking for experience, or any input really.

The injector plugs on my 2001 has been cooked to the point, all the clips are breaking or already broken. Most of them are zip tied on.
Darn mini-cats cook everything on the driver's side.

Instead of replacing the whole hardness, I'm thinking about ordering a six pigtail kit off Ebay and splicing them into the existing harness.

It would seem to be a lot easier since I can reach everything.
Cutting off and splicing the 'new' plugs onto your existing harness might work for you.

I already replaced one with a repair connector from NAPA. Not real happy with it, since the wires are not colored correctly and the connector does not have a waterproof boot on it. I would probably be happier with splicing stock connectors though. Would need to solder them to get reliable connection.

Note from DJ to ehall
Go to the junk yard and gather up 6 matching male and female 2 wire connectors and cut then lose, take them home and push the connector out the open end of all 12 parts.

On the way home stop by your local NAPA and tell the counter person you want 12 each of the following:
