You can go to http://www.napaonline.com/ and lookup a non-napa part number. Lookin up 4167929 points to 19255.

The 19255 is an SKF brand part number. I looked up the seal at partsamerica.com and came up with http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?mfrcode=SKF&mfrpartnumber=19255 which shows both the SKF number and CR brand part number of 471869 (not a dealer part number). I also checked rockauto.com which has a BCA part number as well as dimensions that matched what the NAPA site showed.

BCA Part # 710928
(Dual Lip); New Process 231J 2 Spd. Part Time Transfer Case {Oil Seal Acrylates Shaft Size=1.938 Housing Bore=2.68 Outer Diameter=2.685 Width=0.5}

I also went to http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/ and got this info
Partnumber 4167929 was superceded!
Old Partnumber: 4167929
New Partnumber: 5019020-AA
4167929 $7.04

Even stranger, if you plug the 5019020AA number into the NAPA website, it comes back with a 19293 different seal with the same ID and OD, but a little narrower.
From http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPag...93&Description=Transfer+Case+Input+Shaft+Seal
Attributes:
I.D.:1.9290"
O.D.:2.6940"
Type of Packaging:Boxed
Width:0.3940"

SEAL INPUT GEAR

So what are the dimensions on what you got, versus what you need?

Well the thing is Im not sure what ID and OD I need. I thought it would be an easy seal to just pick up but when comparing it to the pics on this site, http://www.4x4trailhunters.com/article.php?id=20 ,it looks like this one has just one lip and a metal band on one side where mine has 2 lips one being in place of that metal band. http://www.napaonline.com/masterpag...55&Description=Transfer+Case+Input+Shaft+Seal

I figured I would just go to the dealer and get the seal but I dont know whether I need 4167929 or the 5019020-AA that superceded it.
Im guessing they would know what I would need but still... Its a bit odd..

It's not unusual for a substitute to be a slightly different design. Often the replacement will have a double lip instead of a single lip for better sealing. I'm 95% sure you have the right seal based on the NAPA part number.
