New Control arms

I'm running a 5.5 lift on stock arms and I have a tight budget. Should I buy just longer arms or a dropbracket kit with new arms?

...Not really.

How tight is your budget? A quality longarm kit, claytons, TNT, BDS will run you some green, usually around 1K.

DB's and new control arms will run you about 300 (RE DB's, RC are less) and another hundred or so for control arms.

wait longer and get the Long arms

Is there a way to tell how long a control arm you need to match your lift?

Get adjustable arms and ask the mfr for the correct length for your lift... that's the easy way. If you buy fixed get the drop brackets from the same mfr and the part # arms for the same lift... On a budget Rough Country would be cheapest, but RE would be best.
