I installed a pair of Autozone life time warranty about 8 years ago, still working fine.

I knew I needed new motor mounts. I ignored it and focused on other things (mods).
My mounts let my engine move enough to where it contacted the radiator. This ended up having me need a new radiator, fan shroud, cooling fan, and fan clutch in addition to new motor mounts.
The $130 for the MORE mounts is nothing compared to what I ended up spending. I put the MORE's in.
Yeah your Autozone mounts are cheap and have a lifetime warranty, but is it worth your time to change them frequenty? Also if one goes out, and you kill the radiator, do they cover that in the warranty?
I have a question for those of you that have had the bad experiences with the "cheaper" mounts.Redsnake said:I would highly suggest the MORE mounts if you can at all scrape together the money. Do it once, do it right and you can save money in the long run... ASK me how I know this...
I went w/the cheap AZ ones about 1 year back and all seemed good. I recently (say 2 months back) replaced my OE leaking radiator w/a new 3-core unit. I thought all was well. When I excellerated even 1/2 throttle after installing the new radiator I noticed a TERRIBLE grinding sound. It took me a couple weeks of baby-throttling the XJ to find out that I had permanently scorred the 'new radiator w/the mechanical fan. Turns out, that even though my mounts still looked fine, they were allowing the engine to rotate and torque at least a good inch or better on just 1/2 throttle. So I replaced the AZ Mounts w/a good set f/MORE and that problem went away.
It took some work on my part because the engine had torqued and rotated enough that I had a 'job' on my hands getting the MORE mounts to fit, but once in, all is well (at least as far as that goes)... I can give FULL throttle and not problems at all.
Anyone's guess as to how much torque and wear those AZ Mounts were allowing to be put on my APN header, tranny mount, and everything else. Now I know my engine stays the way it should and doesn't torque/twist like crazy.
Ended up costing me an extra $40 for the AZ mounts since wen't the 'cheaper' way to begin with.

What kind of "wheeling" had you done before your "cheaper" mounts went bad?
Some of us won't be putting our rigs thru the tougher abuse as some do.
Just curious .... as I'm looking to replace the "trio" of mounts in the next month or so.
you can add me to the list of those who learned the hard way. 2 new radiators before I figured out the new NAPA mounts gave out after 2 mos. D'oh!B.RAIDER said:I have a question for those of you that have had the bad experiences with the "cheaper" mounts.

PornstaR said:Ok first to any of the "poly mounts" none of you will like those. Your rigs are uni body and with the stiffer poly they will transfer a lot........ and i mean a lot of vibes into your rig. when you are stopped its like a fat kid kicking the back of your seat. None like those except for trailer rigs.
