I will be driving from Waterbury, CT to Moab in September and I'm planning my route now. How much cash will I need for tolls on the journey?

Maybe you can make something out of this. Sorry it sucks!

BTW, IL will now accept the transponders from the Eastern states.....

That's good news about no tolls from LA. Both of our Jeeps are going back home via Long Beach. I'm allowing 2 days to get from Moab to LA via Grand Canyon and Kingman.

If possible I'd add one more day. Lots to see.

Thanks Tompatjr. I pasted the figures into a text editor and fell over when I saw the tolls add up to $363.20 !

With OH charging $219.70 and IN charging $136.20 it's worth changing my journey a little.

Can your software plot the cheapest route?

Karstic: I'd like to add more time, but that would mean leaving the Moab Fall Fling early.

OH at $219.70 and IN $136.20? Maybe if you're a fully loaded 18wheeler.

In September on a run out to Maine, I spent less than $25 each way on tolls from Chicago.

Take 81 south from I-80 in PA to the PA turnpike to I-70... 70 has no tolls through MO at the least and takes you right to Moab.

Yes, but it looks like some people have given you your answer already. Your toll amount sounds pretty high, which is probably for a 18 wheeler, fully loaded.

Thank you for reminding me how much I like the Western states.

No toll from L.A. to Moab.
But there is a toll road from south Orange County to Moab.

That's a great drive through Monument Valley

Going to stay overnight in Blanding on the last day of the Fall Fling so we can drive through Monument Valley in daylight the following day.

Yeah, it would be a shame to drive through Monument Valley at night.

You could leave Moab Saturday morning and drive to the Grand Canyon. No need to stay in Blanding. And if possible, take a little side trip to Sedona, which is just south of Flagstaff.
