It's your money. Spend it how you want. 8.25 is just a easy swap and more than strong enough for what you need.

31 spline shafts (including drum break ones)

most of the drum brake ones are 28 spline in my experience....

Kinda wondering why everybody is against the 44? I have a guy that does welding for me so that's not a problem.

Because the 8.25 is almost as strong and will save you money and it'll just bolt in. Buy the 44 if you really want to, either way will be fine.

i went with the 8.25 because the 44 weights more and the 8.25 has better ground clearance, plus it is trussed.
