I ordered mine with the recessed(countersunk) bolts and drain plug. The bolts are 5/16"x18tpi. RTV will be fine but I recommend the lube locker gaskets for easier trail repairs.

The ruffstuff covers are only around $110 each & afford Much better protection than that guard.
