detroit in front with 242?

I've searched but could not really fine a definitive answer on whether or not I should put a detroit locker up front(hp dana 30) with a 242 tc. I know that there are other options but I really like simplicity of the detroit. that being said I have read that a detroit up front sucks on the street and this will be driven on the street. my question is how much will I notice it in 2wd? I can't figure out if the locker only "engages" when torque is applied because if so then it shouldn't be noticed in 2wd.

i dont believe you searched hard enough. theres a HUGE thread on this that is barely a few months old. i wouldnt do it, you lose the ability to use fulltime 4x4.

Pretty sure you would blow things up with a locker on a full time front end on the pavement with AWD.

The Aussie locker site explicitly says to definitely not do that.. also.
