Desperate: No start

I didn't read every post but it sounds like a IAC issue. It could be sticking or just flat out not working at times. CPS would be my second guess. Whatever it is, its intermittent and they are the hardest things to find.

Too bad she gave up on us, I think we could have eventually helped her out.

I even told the guys at the place it could be the CPS

So basically getting online wasn't really top priority
Now that things are settling down
I can get back on here and try to figure this out again
Either that or Im being told to sell the XJ (*cries* I dun wanna)
And get something different....I DON'T WANNA

I'm Sorry your jeep is still acting up and your holiday wasn't the best!! It is starting to sound like a ECM (compooter)

I hate to say take it to dealer, but if the shop it was at doesn't know what a Crank sensor is, then they don't have any business looking at it!

Have you tried pulling codes from the PCM? Ignition on-off-on-off-on and watch for the check engine light to blink. It will give you a two digit code by blinking the light. 1 blink followed by a short pause and 2 blinks would be 12. Then there will be a little longer pause and another code and so on. Codes 55 means all stored codes have been shown.

i have a brand new spare cps for that year. if you want it, i'll donate it to the cause. it can't cost much too ship, so don't worry about it. you'd just have to get someone to pop it in. if that isn't it, at least you're not out anything. let me know...

:banghead: Blueberry, i know how you're feeling. i replaces 2 injectors in my 89 xj, broke a vac hose & now no matter what i do to it it wont start. was crankin like it wanted to start, but wouldnt kick over. now even the new battery is totaly dead, even after being hooked to a running truck for over 15 minutes last night.
