i have the over the knuckle steering and have sloppy steering. They say it is the steering gear box. does that sound right or is it the set up or could it be the gear box?
You also want to look at the track bar ends for play while doing this, if there is no play in the steering or track bar ends about all that is left is the gear box its self. I would also check ball joints for wear, those can also feel like sloppy steering.
Did you just install the OTK steering? If yes and the steering was not sloppy before, it is the steering setup. Inverted-T is known for a dead spot. OTK will help by reducing the angle of the drag link but it is still possible.
It could be the gear box. Mine has a dead spot and it's the box. Wiggle the steering back and forth with the jeep running and see if there's movement in the pitman arm. If not, bad box.
if it's the box, swap in a durango or stronger box.
