Dana 30 leaking after removing axle

I was thinking about getting the alloy USA outer seals and then didn't order them. Now I wish I had. If I do have to replace the axle seal I am going to order them. Would they also help with sliding the axle in straight? Seems like they would help keep the axle off the bottom of the tube

In a previous post they mentioned jacking up the opposing side. That would probably do it.

For anyone preparing to do this job, jacking up the side you are working on should keep most of it from leaking in the first place.
