Can I reuse the 242 slip yoke

Can I reuse the 242 slip yoke as a sye if I drill a hole through the end like a hack and tap sye? I don't see how it would be different.

You need an expansion joint of some kind, either the slip yoke that rides on the output shaft or a slip yoke in the center of the driveshaft

Right, I just assumed that I'd get a slip shaft instead of keep the slip yoke. I'm going 6 inches

The SYE's tend to be a good bit shorter, giving you much better driveline angles.

you can try it, but 6" on a 242 is going to be tough.

Won't work with that much lift, its too much angle

So are you trying to get me to say double cardan slip drive shaft (I have a place 2 miles from me that can custom make Shafts)

EDIT: I think I'll go with double cardan at my 241, t case drop blocks and axle shims
