93 xj no start.

After reading through that link, I believe some things aren't correct. It dosen't mention lining up the oil pump slot that the dizzy slides into. I believe that needed to be between 10-11 O'clock depending on the play in the oil pump. And the cutting off of the tabs, I've never done that???? Have you gotten it running yet?
 
I moved the oil slot to 11 oclock and did not cut tabs. I just used the spring idea. I have a manual and followed that step by step. It still is not starting.
