Does anybody know where I can find an ax15 from 88-90 xj? Also do the ba10 transfercases direct connect. Do I need and new parts to hook up to the ba10 set up?

You'll need a 23-sp input gear - the BA-10 was 21-sp, the AX-15 (all iterations, that I know of) are 23-sp.

If you can grab the tcase at the same time, do.

Also, check the rearward set of holes for the crossmember in the frame rails - sometimes, the nutserts have rusted out and you'll need to access the inside of the frame rail to use a nut and washer instead.

if the nutsert is hosed, drill it out, then fold it into itself. That will allow you to punch it out.

Then you can set new nutserts with a piece of thread and a few nuts.
It takes time and a lot of leverage, but can be done without super fancy expensive tool.

Should be a straight swap for the BA-10, even uses the same clutch hydraulics. You may need to change the pilot bushing - details in the thread previously cited.
