5.3L MJ D44 and Junk.

Fixed my coolant problem, ran the lines where GM intended and did so with some sparkless metal. I need more hood time with alloys so I have a few projects that I added to this build. I made the lines and a surge tank, and I am doing an aluminum tail pipe. I also plan on doing the dash and door panels with aluminum, buddy of mine has some bead rolling skills.

The glass is back in it. Yay for new windshield. I hate all the pitting that makes it impossible to drive into the sun.

Tucked back out of the way.

So glad I did hood struts forever ago on this.

Soooo, I have been driving the ol truck and it's going pretty well. I have so many little things to button up but overall it's going pretty good. I build an alloy tailpipe section for fun, made some dimple died door sill covers, bits and pieces along the way. It is stiffer than my XJ, which was to be expected, yet it leans quite a bit in the corners. I guess driving slammed cars has made me a bit sensitive to that sort of thing, I'll get re-accustomed to it. Took it down the highway at 70 and it handles well for unbalanced unround tires. More little details coming soon.

All TIG baby!

Thanks guys! I am very happy with how it's turning out.

Lack of steering stabilizer was killing me, ended up conjuring this thing up. I don't like welding tabs to the tie rod tube, because it limits the toe adjustment, this lil guy allows adjustment and seems more rugged than off the shelf solutions.

Soooo, this happened. Can't say I was surprised, but moderately disappointed. I had planned on running a traction bar, just didn't anticipate needing it so soon. Now I have to figure out how to either bend the leaves back, or find a suitable replacement. Neither option is appealing. I would really like to throw the leaf springs away and put real suspension in the rear to match the front, but funding won't allow currently. Bugger.

Painted front bumper.
