also looking at getting a lockright for the 8.8 but i was just wonder how well they work on the street or should i just save up for a selectable locker.

thanks John

I had a Detroit and 4.10's in one of my 8.8's, Patch bought it and regeared to 5.13. Thing held up to 40k miles and a ton of abuse. I think Mike Peckham has it now. I'd buy one again.

well today i was looking for a leek in my cooling system and found no external leaks knowing that its has the 0331 head i took a peak in the vale clover and found a small crack in the head with a little coolant seeping out. i know you can swap in a older model ho head with a little modification but i have California emissions is it possible to use the manifold off the 2000 with the older style head?

the '00/01 exhaust manifold ports don't line up with the earlier heads. Some people have been able to do it by sandwiching an old gasket, an adapter, and a new gasket, but I don't know if the guy(s) who made the adapter are still around or not.

Somebody in the OEM tech forum was talking about swapping in an earlier ECM and engine harness, that might work.

thanks for the input guys ill probably end up going with the TUPY head. do you know were i could get one? i have look up Clearwater Cylinder Heads and the reviews are not vary good i also found ProMaxx Performance Cylinder Head off of quadratec.

i put a 1995 long black in my 2000 I had no issues at all and i used a 2000 spec gasket.

i found a replacement head i was talking to one of the parts guy that i work with and he's getting me remanufactured head from LKQ with a 5 year warranty for around $450.

i have been really slacking on keeping this thread updated so here's whats been going on.

the jeep been the same no real changes

but i just got my tax returns and i finally pulled the trigger on a new welder

miller 190 with auto set.

the bad part is that i have been trying to hunt down a drive line vibe in my front end and i found that the pinion is very lose and has a lot of play in it.
so now im trying to figure out if its worth my time to rebuild it with a locker or start fresh and build up a hp 44 instead.

thanks,
John

haven't posted in quite some time but the latest addition to the jeep was the DIY Mojave from dirtbound offroad.

bumper looks a little lopsided because of the trunk being messed up but i'm happy with the result.
