    New lift set up

Got the rough country in a seperate deal and figured that the RK springs all the qway around would be more balanced. Will either sell the springs and arms or keep them for spares in case something happens.

    New lift set up

Got a set of RE drop brackets, 4.5" rough country coil springs, Rusty's trackbar, 4.5" Rock Krawler front coils and rear leaf packs. Figure to get an SYE and get a driveshaft locally and extend the brake lines. Any recommendations on shocks? I was thinking of running OME 4" w/ BPE's but...

    Quick disco's on dd

The end links don't make a difference in stiffness except that if they are too short then they don't allow the swaybar to perform properly. The advantages to the after market end links (quick dosconnects) is that you can quickly disconnect for off road driving and most are adjustable (JKS and...

    trailer lights on an 89

Did a search and didn't see anything for an 89. I saw the one for 91 and newer but that didn't help much. If anyone could tell me the break light wires I would really appreciate it. I don't have a choice, I am pulling this trailer 200 miles this afternoon. I am not required to have lights...

    trailer lights on an 89

I need to hook up a trailer to my Jeep and couldn't find any pig tails appropriate and when I did a search only found pigtails for 91's and newer. I am going to tie into the lights but I need to know what color wires to tie into. If anyone else has done this I would really appreciate your...

    cargo area bed liner

Nice job, I would recommend lining that speaker box and putting some sort of grill on. Just my thoughts.

Found a nice set of seat covers for under $50

You can get grey and black and red ones at Wal-Mart and save 5 bucks each, the only place I found green ones was autozone and I paid the axtra 10 bucks for the set so it would coordinate with my TJ. Those seat covers are the best off road seat covers I have seen, I always had stuff packed into...

Avon Mud Terrain Radial Sxt ?

they make a great bike tire but I don't know about that mud terrain, doesn't look like there is enough lug to it to get a good bite in real mud, the BFG AT looks more aggresive.

    Snorkel

OMG, I AM A POSER...........I have a stock XJ but my TJ had Steel wheels, an OME lift (the BB jsut didn't have the chick appeal I wanted), steel bumpers, WARN rockers (couldn't leave the rock damage exposed, looked terrible), rock lights (yeah, well, I used them once when I wrapped the tail pipe...

    Driving through water

Sorry, if the AW4 is an auto then you also want to extend the transmission breather. There is alot more to deep water crossings then the intake but it is very important. I had my TJ actually over hte hood in water a couple of times without drowning the engine. Got caught in a mud hole once...

    How bad is this??

what a POS but if the tires and engine are legit it wouldn't be too bad a buy, just throw away everything else.

    what tire is better

the BFG MT rides rough, anyone who say's different isn't being fully honest with themselves. I haven't ridden on anyone's BFG MT's that don't rumble. The MTR is a good off road tire with good street manners but for what you are asking I would go with the BFG AT. Great on the street and I went...

Anyone made their own TC lowering kit?

Made mine for a TJ with 6 bolts and a bag of 3/4" washers. My Dad did it for his XJ with some aluminum piping he had sitting around cut to 1" and some longer bolts. I drove to lowes, took one of the bolts out and took it in the store to make sure I got the right size and pitch. I just...

    $200 beater XJ

I just did the same thing, I bought an XJ for 300 bucks to use on the trails. I figure a 3-5" ;lift and 35's till I break the d35 and then swapping in a d44. I am definitely going to have more tied into the XJ drivetrain then the whole rig but it shure beats tearin up a 17K TJ.

    Build-up advice

I have wheeled open for a couple of years now and can't say it has hurt, and has definitely made lines and traction top priorities. Yes, lockers will make it easier but I saw guys with new rubicons and lockers get stuck following me repeatedly because lockers aren't answers to all and knowing...

    Minimum for 33"

ok, if I cut to the pinch seams, and I will be running bumpstop extensions front and rear, how much lift for 33" tires and still have some flex if not the same flex as a 31" tire. As for the unibody, I am not too famililar, I understand the structure but not all the dynamics, that is why I am...

    Minimum for 33"

I want to go to 33" tires and know where the power switch is for the cutting wheel, how much do I have to lift/cut for 33" tires? I just can't stand driving such a short vehicle and I know I am going to eat it pretty bad with how little skid protection is underneath the Jeep the first time I...
