I changed the proportion valve... it wasn't the problem. I have a good used one in my tool bin. If its leaking around the connectors that's another issue. .

I've kept every smog test report since I bought my Jeep Cherokee in 1991 and started this ritual in 1997. I can tell you this.. one year they lowered the thresholds.

This is second set of OE switches I've had in my XJ since new... Now these are turning white as well. Anyone know a way to restore these so they a black again? I'm not interested in spray painting them like the ones I see on eBay. Thanks .

Pull the oil and filter out and replace with a Mopar oil filter and Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w40 oil... My 1991 4.0L HO runs very quiet with this combination.. no dry starts and you can't hear the lifters at 178K miles. :NAXJA:
