Re: Re: What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????
Appreciate it
I thought about it since i can't go back once these are on but i'm on a time crunch already and they've given me such a problem already i just chose not to. I did wonder if they are thick enough to drill and tap the...
Fabbed up a new panel to cover the fuel filler hoses since i had to remove mine because of the cut and fold mod.
Also been working on installing a set of tnt frame stiffeners. Much more work than anticipated, three days in and still not on the jeep. Although i had to modify the crossmember...
Went to one in '99 at Y.O. Ranch in Kerrville. Really, its just an expensive offroad event. It is nice to have a group that is guided and they also have time to meet up and some for lunch which is provided. But honestly, i wouldn't do it again. The cost is too much when you cab re-create it for...
Re: Re: 84-96 XJ 50" LED Lightbar Mounting Brackets
I would love to be a sponsor just can't sink any more money into this right now. If i start getting ahead surely i want to.
Re: Re: 84-96 XJ 50" LED Lightbar Mounting Brackets
Thanks bud. The door clears, just barely but it does. One of the reasons i'm having to change things up for the 97+. I have been able to mount them on an '01 now, although some minor cutting is required
to allow the use of the existing...
Thanks man. That's one of the reasons i didn't just buy somebody's when i first made some for mine, didn't care for most of them. Plus they didn't do much for theft prevention.
Starting making these to keep up with the bills.
Right now I am only making them for the 84-96 XJ, but am looking into finding a way to make them work on 97-01 models.
They are made from 1/8" steel, press broke, and come coated in primer. Each bracket is secured to the backside of the a-pillar...
Re: Re: What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????
Its not wired yet so i don't have much to go on but i did hook it to a jump pack and its bright enough it overcomes the glare.
Re: Re: Wheel Stud
I am actually undertaking the same zj disc swap currently and am putting in 3/8"-16 x 1 1/2" grade 8 bolts. You'll need nuts too. Its the common fix for this mod.
Carved out the dash panel that the metal panel i made will go onto. Also, cleaned up the metal panel and coated it in primer. Still not sure how to secure the metal panel to the dash panel.
Worked on the switch panel i'm making to go over the fake panel to the right of the cluster. Our step drill bit only goes up to 7/8" and i needed 15/16" holes so i had to get the files out to finish them up. Worked pretty good.
Also, i looked into the a-pillar lights not working and pretty...
Its been an adventure with my auxiliary lights lately. The day i mock up the lightbar one of the driving lights goes out (just a bulb, replaced Saturday), then a couple days later the driving light (one that was still working) wouldn't come on at all, tapped it and it lit... must be a loose...
New to you rig, go over all the hardware and bushings. Make sure the winch is in good working order. Change the fluids, or least check level and condition... don't forget the diffs. Other than that, throw up a pic so we can see what you're dealing with and tell us what you want to do with it and...
