I think you're right. I just broke down and bought all the parts to completely rebuild my brakes, and decided if I'm putting that much work in, why not convert.
Atleast somebody's going to get a cheap set of drums, shoes, cylinders, hardware kits, and hoses. :-|
Not to drag up a new thread, I have a set of ZJ backing plates with brackets and the ebrake shoe assembly.
I got to looking in my garage yesterday and ran across them. The backing plate/dust shield literally crumbled to dust in my hands. Can I just install the ZJ caliper brackets without that...
It comes with hardware to attach to the front set of cargo tie downs, tie down rings that you put on the back seat latch bracket, and these knows that install in existing screw holes along the headliner trim. It came with all the hardware, longer screws and everything.
I got an NOS Cargo net that goes behind the seat for like $30 afew years back. It covers the area where you have the para cord great.
Here's the best pic of it I could find.
I've done seats in my 4 door. I just swapped the whole recline mechanism and got it to work.
While I had it apart, I made up some 1/8" strips that are 1 1/2" wide and about 15" long. I drilled holes to match where the seat bolts up to the tracks, and where the extra hole is in the bottom of...
Not to drag up an old thread, but I just scored a set of leather WJ seats for $80 and I'm considering installing the rear in my XJ.
The instructions look pretty straight forward, but I was wondering about the hole in the cargo area. How close to the gas tank is it?
Thanks, that's EXACTLY what I was looking for. I figured I would get an exhaust shop make up an extension pipe to make the overall length of the cat the same as an OE one.
I've searched around and can't seem to come up with anything. When I bought my 97 afew years back it didn't have a cat or the rear 02. I scavenged the parts from my wrecked 98 to get it together.
Now I'm at the point of needing to replace the exhaust and was thinking of getting a new cat as...
They sell the bazel new, but it's a bit steep. Your best bet would be to find one at a bone yard or use a non factory switch.
I had considered using a toggle switch and drill a small hole in the dummy cover.
Use your own relay. I used the relay for the blower motor because it had a nice holder with a screw hole. I mounted it under the hood. I have a wire from the fog light switch to my relay. The relay also has a wire to the positive on the battery, a wire to the ground, and a wire to the fog...
Easiest way would be to run your own wire from the switch to the lights with a relay inline. I went down the same path when I tried to retro fit the fog lights from my 98 Sport to my 97 SE.
IIRC, there are 4 wires to the switch, power, ground, dash light, and output. Just splice into the...
What I currently have. There's also an ammo box for small items under the bag that holds all of my towing/recovery gear. The trunk is for larger items, 6 ton bottle jack, 4 way lug wrench, air compressor, spare parts, tools, ect...
Right now I have the 3 inch long AAL from my lift kit, two sets of XJ leafs, and a set of S-10 leafs in the garage. For all the work to build a bastard pack, I think I'd rather just go with a new leaf pack rather than cobble something together.
I'm considering the Iron Rock 3.5 lift pack for...
I'm looking for options for a 3 - 3.5 inch lift pack. I've decided rather than use the AAL that came with my RC lift, I want to get a new leaf pack.
So far I've got Rusty's and Iron Rock Offroad. I'd like to keep the price under $300 with shipping. Any suggestions?
