fixed. thanks for the help guys. there were 2 wires right at the plug in front of the gas tank that go into a 4 wire plug. 1 was burnt in half and another was almost burnt in half. cut and respliced and it fired right up. back to wheelin.
i don't think it has one on a 97 cherokee. at least nothing in the owners manual. i checked the fuse and the relay. i'm going to check that resistor on the firewall and the voltage to and from it tonight. i need to try and do everything before i drop that gas tank skid plate. if i...
i was out wheeling the xj yesterday and was in a pretty deep mud hole rockin and banging around and the motor shuts off. got pulled out and it wont run. fuel pump fuse is good. it runs fine on ether but there is 0 pressure or fuel at the fuel rail. before i replace the fuel pump, does anyone...
97 xj 4wd, auto trans, 4.0L. do i need some kind of special tool to disconnect the bottom transmission line from the radiator? i was replacing the radiator and didn't expect to see a quick connect coupling on the bottom trans line where it connects to the radiator.
i've been struggling with the naxja search and google search for about an hour now. i know i've seen a thread on here that listed the specific years of ford coil springs that i can swap into the front of my 97 xj to give it some lift but i cant find the thread. can someone point me in the...
the forward most leaf spring bolts will not come out without a torch. i had a 3' breaker bar and a 3' pipe on them and twisted the breaker bar until i nearly broke it. everything on the jepp looks equally aged and sagged out so i'm definately claiming it was never lifted. back bolts did come...
thanks hubs. i thought this cherokee was a creampuff. maybe i was wrong. this thing was definately never lifted (until i got it). is there some reason someone would do that?
oddly enough i do have a 4L80E but its in my chevy avalanche 2500 NOT my jeep. while i'm on the subject of transfer cases, did someone install a drop kit on this xj or is that spacer on the crossmember from the factory?
anyone know if my NP-261 transfer case is original to my 97 xj? i was under the assumption that my stock transfer case was an NP-231. i just went out and read the tag and to my surprise it says new process model and a 261 stamped into the tag.
i'll probably ditch the sway bar evenytually. i gotta get back under there to replace the shocks anyway. they are now extended to their limits with 2 add a leafs and a 2" extended shackle.
well as and end result, i added 2 leafs to each side. one long and one short. i was able to do it without disconnecting either end of the main leaf. piece of cake. i also left the sway bar connected for now.
thanks man. i was hoping that it could happen. i just added the rear 2" lift shackles so the rear bolt will easily come out. the one towards the front of the jeep isn't going to happen. i had a 36" breaker bar on it with a 36" piece of pipe and could not even budge that front bolt.
