Is there a "break in" period after gears and lockers are installed?

I went to harrys today in Hazleton pa and scored a set of z-34 hood vents and i also noticed that there are quite a few xjs up there with the 8.25 rear under them yet in case anyone is looking for one.

I can get a set of 15X8 american racing baja rims with 33X10.50 swampers on them with about 1/4 tread for $250. Good buy or not?
