    MJ/XJ Wheelbase Question....

I'm sure someone knows the answer to this one - is the wheelbase the same between a SWB Comanche and a Cherokee XJ, or is the LWB Comanche the same as the Cherokee XJ? Also, are the rear leaf springs the same between the XJ and the MJ? Thanks, Jim

    Suspension Parts Source

I've got the front end out of my '89 XJ and wanted to install poly bushings in the upper control arms while everything is apart (LCA's are Rancho units that already have poly bushings). Clutch MC Problems

I did a complete clutch job on my daughter's '89 4.0 (concentric MC) back in January. Today, I took it for a drive and noticed that the clutch wasn't releasing smoothly and that it was getting tough to put in gear. I tried bleeding it by cracking the bleeder, depressing the pedal, and then...

    1988 Laredo $350 OBO VA

1988 Cherokee Laredo 4 dr, auto, NP231. I bought this for two reasons: the 3.55 axles which I swapped into my '89 5-sp (so it's sitting on 3.07 equipped diffs); and Renix spares (so it's missing all of the underhood electrics). It ran and drove when I bought it, but it had a main bearing...

Looking for Tips on Engine Removal

I just finished replacing the engine and trans on mine and you should be able to get the engine/trans removed as a unit without taking off the hood or removing any body work. I used a cherry picker with an Autozone engine chain. I did remove the intake/exhaust manifolds first along with the...

Felpro Head Gasket - Did I screw up?

Just finished buttoning up my '89 4.0 after a rebuild. As I was torquing down the head bolts, I pulled out my Chiton manual to verify max torque and it made mention to coat the head gasket with sealant and to make sure that the "top" mark was pointing up. Do the Felpro head gaskets require...

    4.0 Reassembly Advice?

I get the block, head, crank, rods and .06+ pistons back from the machine shop this Friday (89 4.0). I've got a Chilton's manual for torque specs, but is there anything else I should look out for when I'm screwing it back together?
