This may be a stupid question, but I've done plenty of searching and cannot come across an answer. Awhile ago i bought an ARB air locker for the dana 30 off of a friend who had the same gearing as me (3.55 gearing). I'm trying to figure out exactly which locker it is from the factory. They...
I vote yes. I've never been sure what chapter i belong to seeing how i live in nova but I'm in southern Viginia 9 months of the year for school. So, I think this would help keep things much more organized.
Im pretty sure there is a tool out there that is made for doing that, but I just cut off a piece of a hose clamp ( just enough to wrap around the line) and pressed that down into the fitting to release the tabs, and then pull the old piece out.

Im still in school so no career yet, but I have an intership the revolves around project management for water/sewer so I'm heading in the same direction as my major.
yeah thats what I'm suspecting after the balancing didn't do anything at all. (previous searches here lead me to believe vibes around 50 normally means unbalanced wheels). But I started to get uneven tire wear (plenty of tread left) when the vibes started. And yes I do have the 8.25/242...
A month ago my jeep started to develop a vibration that was only felt at certain speeds (especially around 50). I figured my wheels just need to be balanced because it didn't really feel like a driveline vibe and the front tires have been wearing down pretty rough (btw I have a 3" lift on a...
1998 classic: Alternator is place very low. Dirt and mud can get itself in there pretty easily and kill the bearing. I've seen a lot of people with sticky valve lifters (seafoam cured that for me!) Rust seems to build up in the same places in a lot of xj's too. A downside of having the...
same here, there used to be tons of places that you could just go ride on but now they have all turned into housing developments. Now I just out on my friends farms/properties.
I've got those in 31x10.5 and so far they have been great for my daily driver. I have taken them in many different terrains, and they have done well. I had never really heard of the brand name before, until a mechanic was telling me that Dick Cepek had created one of the first offroad/paddle...
on the frame bracket where the lca connects, there is a bracket that is bolted to the inside of the other...do i need to remove that for the new lca's or do i keep it in? i was trying to put in the lca's with the brackets in, and they werent fittin to well. thanks
well guys thanks for all your advice, I am still not sure what exactly i want to do, but i have all summer to decide. I had been debating the idea of holding onto the jeep for awhile, not offraod, and just let things settle down (its gunna be hard to do that and stay a member of VA tech offroad...
thanks for the feedback. i remember hearing somewhere that the spark plugs are a pain on the those trucks b/c the threads are not long enough for easy removal. I found one with around 50xxx miles on it.
By maintenance, I meant offroad repair and keepup. Because if I have my jeep, I'm going...
i know its a ford...dont have to tell me any stories. I have searched all over and the only complaints (mechanically) i have found is that you have to keep an eye on the intercooler level b/c it tends to leak sometimes. I posted to see if anyone here had personal experience with them.
and...
I'm pretty sure that I will be selling my cherokee within the next few weeks. I never thought the day would come but it's just getting to be too much maintinence wise. Being a full time student, full time intern, and having another part time job I just can't keep up with it. So a few...
same thing happened to me a few days ago....all i did was tighten the belt a tad and that stopped the squeal. i probably will invest in a tool to measure the tension so i dont over tighten one day and kill the bearings
well its not really relevant b/c it would be right next to the front doors' speakers...but i just finished helping a friend wire up his speakers on the kicker panels because he took his doors off and still wanted some tunes up front.
