I went the wire rope route run inside the springs. Cheep, effective. Keeps the springs in.

No, just more village wisdom in my opinion. The teeth pattern contact is the same if they are 3.55 or 5.38 gears. the thinest part of the pinion is the shaft, and that is the same no matter the ratio.

It was over kill on mine. 6.5" springs with 1" spacers/shackles.
I put in a D-44 with high steer, moved the track bar frame side bracket aft 2 inches, and made an over the axle track bar mount. The 4 inch drop pitman arm was too much. Swapped it out for a stock arm.
Correct!! I run my front 2 inches wider than the rear. (Both are custom width axles) I can easily outturn a wrangler. Coupled with an 3.75 BS rim and the fact that the rear tracks inside the front, the turning radius of my XJ is really good. Very few three point turns on the trails.

Replacement factory bushings are like $4 a piece or get some stock control arms from your local Jeep club (everyone throws their stock control arms away when they put on a lift) and use the factory bushings.
