    Weekend in Moab!

I agree that SUWA uses underhanded methods to feed their propaganda machine. However, Moab Chevron is specifically named on SUWA's website as a supporter (not just in the letter). I would suggest the owners should do more to get their business name removed. Quoted from www.suwa.org "The...

    Weekend in Moab!

Most of the businesses on the list are "minor" players and off-road users are not likely to frequent them anyway. There are a few businesses like Moab Chevron that do benefit from off-road patrons. I wrote an email to Moab Chevron and they said that "if they had known how people would react...

    Weekend in Moab!

I just got back from a fantastic weekend in Moab. We had a party of 10 vehicles and about 30 people. I personally spent over $1,000 in local businesses. I'm sure the whole group dropped more than $10,000 over the 5 days. We talked about the businesses who we had identified as supporters of...

    SUWA Sues Kane County

Our friends at SUWA are at it again. These people really really hate motorized off-road recreation. And, they hate you for enjoying it! http://www.sltrib.com/utah/ci_3115632

    Exhaust Upgrade question

I have the same setup (Flowmaster with 2.5" pipe). I think the 2.5" pipe makes a huge difference in the tone. My neighbor has the same flowmaster as mine with a stock pipe on his XJ. He asked me the other day why mine sounded so much better than his. It's the bigger pipe man!

    Which Locker

It snows here in Salt Lake too. I have had a rear locker for 3 winters now. You do have to be carefull in very slippery situations. The rear will tend to slip side-to-side. I found that if I run in 4-wheel drive, the front wheels pulling helps keep the rear from moving around. You can do...

    Which Locker

It may be that powertrax was correct when they said that my stock carrier might have a factory defect because my no-slips popped and snapped all over the place. My Detroit has only "unloaded" on me three or four times. You can hear a slight "ratchet" on tight turns. Maybe I'm just use to it.

    Which Locker

I put in the no-slip and took my XJ to Moab. Everthing was working fine until I applied some throttle to a ledge. Two teeth on the syncro-ring broke off. I could still drive it but when I turned right it made a horrible noise. I had JR at MS Conception Motor Sports remove the no-slip and put...

    Which Locker

I have the 29 spline 8.25 and I have broken two no-slips. Last year I went with the Detroit and have had no problems since. I highly recomend it!

    How bad will I rub?

I just put 265/75/R16 (32"x10.5") on stock rims on my 2000 XJ with a 3" lift and I have no rubbing on turns. I took the endcaps off the front bumper to get extra front clearance. I'm sure I will rub the plastic endcaps on the rear bumper when the tires are fully compressed in the wheel well.

Posi + Locker? Is it possible?

I have had two different no-slips in my 8.25. Both of them broke in Moab. I have since gone to a detroit and love it. It has pretty good road behavior once you get use to it. As long as you use 4WD in the snow, it does not slide around much. Spend the extra cash and go with the detroit!

    Hummer BS

I met my neighbor in Moab in March so he could show off his new H2 to me. He wanted to run Gold Bar, Cliff Hanger and Kane. We ended up replacing 3 tie rods and putting his tail pipe back on twice. He had a hard time getting out of the canyon on Kane. By the time we got to behind the rocks...

    SUWA Again!

SUWA is up to their tricks again. They have been seeking names of people who claim they did not visit certain areas in Southern Utah because the areas were "overrun" with OHV users. They want to use this information to try and convince local businesses that they would attract more dollars to...
