Difficult No Start Issue with 2.5l - Any ideas appreciated!

Over the weekend I found the issue and the engine fired right up and runs very well. The distributor had been tampered with and was installed incorrectly. It was rotated far enough off top dead center when installed that there was no way the engine would start. I appreciate the ideas and help...

Difficult No Start Issue with 2.5l - Any ideas appreciated!

There is spark at each plug which should rule out the signal to coil and using a continuity test light I was prodding around in the PCM harness connector to see what was getting power with the key off and what wasn't and I landed on 4 pins in a row that when I tapped them each set off a click...

Difficult No Start Issue with 2.5l - Any ideas appreciated!

I have always had great luck using these forums, getting help, and resolving issues in the past so here goes... I recently purchased a non-running 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ 2.5l with an AX5 to use as a platform for a build. I still have my XJ. This Wrangler will not start! The previous owner...

    Good, quality brake rotor replacements?

I have been running the same set of AutoZone ValueCraft for years, but with my 35s mounted up I think an upgrade is in order.

    Good, quality brake rotor replacements?

Hey guys, I am wondering what is a quality, light weight, performance brake rotor replacement option for the Cherokee? Hopefully under $50 a piece. Thanks!!

    Rusty's lift, any good?

I have (had) the Rusty's Offroad 4.5" short arm kit for about 6 years and have wheeled with it very lightly. The springs felt unstable and very bouncy on the road. I noticed a huge difference in ride control and comfort when I upgraded to IROs 8" coils believe it or not. The trackbar that...

    Jeep won't go in reverse?

Thanks! I was reviewing that tread this morning. An '01 trans swap into a '97 really doesn't seem that bad at all if you just swap the tail assemblies.

    Jeep won't go in reverse?

Thanks for the info! I have a working 4wd trans from an '01 sitting in my garage if I can't identify the issue and by replacing some failed internal bolt-on part after I pull the pan then I will look into the necessary wiring and TCU modifications to adapt over the entire trans.

    Jeep won't go in reverse?

What mechanical parts could fail that would cause this? Would a working valve body fix this?

    Jeep won't go in reverse?

Hey, I identified a 4wd '97 XJ I am looking at buying and the owner said that he is selling it because the Jeep wont go into reverse? What part(s) on the AW4 could fail that would cause this issue. I haven't yet test driven it so this is all the information I have. Any ideas? Also, what...

    Auto Transmission Swap Compatibility

Hey guys, so I am selling the 4x4, yr 98-01 XJ AW4 trans left over from this Jeep project and there is a guy on Craigslist that wants to know what is required to swap it into his 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 with a 4.7 engine? How much work in modification is required for this type of swap...

    Torque converter not seating

I literally have just done this twice in the past couple weeks. If you are trying to put it on the transmission horizontally you may never get it on. What has worked within a few seconds both times is standing the transmission on its tail end and then slowly rotating the TC back and forth on...

How to properly install a Torque Converter/Pump Ring Bushing?

Kastein and Digger87xj, I reposted this in this thread so I made sure to thank you both for helping me out! Last night I had a good friend hook up a $4,000 Snap-On scanner and made sure all my codes were cleared from the computer and then I continued to drive the Jeep in 3rd (for certainty)...

    code po740

Last night I had a good friend hook up a $4,000 Snap-On scanner and made sure all my codes were cleared from the computer and then I continued to drive the Jeep in 3rd (for certainty) right up to the point of the Smog station today. On my 4th attempt to Smog in about three weeks the Jeep...

    code po740

Jlanesey, I installed a new bushing like the one pictured above, new front fluid seal, and new TC. Took it on a short test drive last night and instantly noticed near perfect shifting, scraping/grinding noises are drastically reduced almost to nothing, and there is no slight smell of burnt...
