    2.5L performance

Getting performance from that 4 banger is like polishng a turd. Save your money and put it towards a Jeep with the 4.0L engine.

    Jeep 89 Faster Start?

Regarding the BMW fuel check valve, I installed one on my wife's 00 XJ because she was getting long crank times to start the engine. It worked great for a couple weeks, then the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail began leaking. Ended up doing the right fix of replacing the fuel...

    5.3L Vortec V8 Conversion

It will be interesting to see how you fit the gauges into the dash and make it a clean look. Are you planning on hooking up that trans temperature gauge on the Chevy cluster?

looking for opinions on my xj

I'd say it's time to put the Heep to rest and part her out. Either that or sell it for $500 and upgrade to another vehicle. With that many miles, it'll probably become a money pit if you hang on to it much longer.

    5.3L Vortec V8 Conversion

Very nice. Even in stock form, that engine will move a lightweight XJ along quite well. If you want more power, the aftermarket is swamped with mods!

Stroker Perfomance (squeezing out a couple more horses)

Dino- VA's stroker has a Crane 753905 cam with the higher lift. When I was building the engine, a lot of the camshaft failures were surfacing(including yours), so I decided to use the Crane cam, but go with stock valve springs. I believed there were 2 things contributing to the cam...

Stroker Perfomance (squeezing out a couple more horses)

Howdy stranger- For an FYI to everyone, I built the engine and installed it myself. I am the previous owner. I know just as well as VAhasnowaves that the engine has more power in it. For this stroker, I believe a 62-63mm TB would be perfect and a 2.5" exhaust from the manifold back would be...

    block for stroker question

Any block can be made to work with any computer system. The big part is using the throttle body for am OBD2 4.0 so it has all the correct sensors. The block is simply a big chunk of metal. Its dimensions did not change from 94 to 2000.

    AX-15 max input torque?

What kind of fab work? It was put behind the 4.0L in a TJ, so it should bolt right up in a TJ. The tranny mount would have to be fabricated, but everything else should be fairly straight forward.

How much power can a Centerforce clutch hold?

Go with a Luk Pro Gold clutch kit. Luk was the OEM manufacturer of Jeep clutches, and the Pro Gold series has something like 20% greater clamping power. On the other hand, My OEM clutch with 126k miles has been holding strong for my stroker for the past 30k miles.

Anyone had problems with Precision auto Injectors delivering

If you paid with Paypal, you can start the process to get your money back. It's a slow process, but if you are correct on the facts, you should get every cent back. Sorry, can't help you on experience dealing with these guys.

    Climbing Colorado Passes

The manual trans has less drivetrain loss, so it is able to get more power to the wheels. The older XJs were actually a little lighter than the newer ones also.

FS in WI: 99 XJ, 2 door, 5 speed, 4x4,

I bought a WJ so this is now for sale. It's a 1999 XJ, 2 door, 5 speed, 4wd. It took me nearly a year to find a Jeep with that combination! It has 126,000 miles, A/C, cruise, power mirrors, and cassette radio. It has a 2" receiver hitch and tows very smoothly. The engine is a 4.6L stroker with...

    Axle ID Numbers?

Re: axle iden. #'s ??? On the ID tag, you should see a series of numbers like 307 or 355 indicating the gear ratio. Otherwise, turn the tires and count the rotations of the driveshaft.
