We were planning to camp but We are going just for the day. I plan to play around at the training area in Gorman after we finish the trail. I'm going to teach my GF and two of our kids how to wheel.

Last time i went a guy with us did a donut at the end and
A ranger wrote him up for air pollution. No kidding, ask Cal.

Update on the fire:

Sounds like Frazier Mtn. Rd. will likely be open on Friday so technically there will still be access to the trail. Not sure if Hungry Valley OHV area has opened back up. That will be important since the run ends there.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether I should scrub this or not?

I'm out. There are just too many dynamic conditions like displaced wildlife and unstable soil this soon after a big fire.

Well the fire never reached Alamo Mtn or any of the actual trail which is west of the burn area, but if people are having reservations about heading up I understand. Especially since Frazier Mtn road is not scheduled to open until Friday and things could change.

So this event is CANCELED on account of mother nature being a b-word.

Scott, the area is also my hunting ground (Lockwood Valley- Frazier Mtn).
There will be a lot of distraught wildlife running around right now including Black Bear.
The area needs to calm down for a while until it normalizes. Give it a few month and try again.
