Best Track Bar?

I've had my IRO trac bar for about a year now. Zero complaints, great bang for the buck. I'm sure there are other good options out there too

Speaking of track bars, does anyone know off hand the bolt size(s) for the bracket? I figure I might as well replace the hardware while it's all off and buy it before I tear it all apart...

I got my Iron rock off road double shear adjustable track bar installed today, went smooth and is seriously beefy. Also it should be noted that IRO shipped everything out quick and very well packaged to protect the nice finish on the parts.

One of the bolts for the factory track bar mount was seriously messed up, it looks like the bracket was shifting badly. The shank of the bolt closest to the head was dented in and almost half the thickness of the rest of the shank. I'm lucky that thing didn't just give out. The other bolt was fine as where the 2 studs/nuts. Not sure how it shifted to allow that one bolt to get damaged when the rest didn't look like they moved.

Also, I love my new air tools, the 4 fasteners on the track bar mount just zipped right off no fuss at all.

Another IRO double sheer owner :)

1000 years from now you'll find a a pile of metal/dust and then you'll find the IRO double sheer in one piece in the middle of that pile.

Far superior? Are you an infomercial ? RE's cartridge is as tough as a JJ, they use the factory style lower bushing and a larger bolt too.
Sorry I had to bring this back up, it made me laugh. Yes I am an informercial. :yelclap: No, RE's joint is not as tough as a johnny joint, RE does not use a larger size bolt like clayton offers, and RE does not use a factory style lower bushing. They use a crappy poly bushing that wears out very quickly, far from the quality of even the stock clevite style bushing. I have used Claytons & Rubicon express trackbars, my RE trackbar needed attention quite frequently. I have never touched my clayton trackbar ever, I do grease it though.

the RE HD bar uses 1/2" grade 8 bolts on each end. what does clayton use? and i have never had a problem with my poly bushing on the axle end in nearly 3 years. but the superflex joint constantly needs tightening now and the plastic races inside need replacing. so i will agree that the real JJ is superior

Do you use the RE tool to tighten the joint? They need to be cranked down, gorilla tight. My Superflex joints have over 100k on the original races and work fine. The rebuild kit I bought six years ago still sits in the tool box.

BTW, I'm not 100% positive, maybe get in touch with Summit Machine, to find out if any of their parts interchange with the RE cartridges. http://www.summitmachine.com/store/index.php/suspension-components/flex-joints/index.html

no i dont but i have tightened the joint with a small hammer and punch numerous times. the joints on all of my arms havent been touched and are still tight.

What are you guys running with a XJ with 9" lift in the front? That is the problem I am having. All of the mentioned ones stop at around 8" according to thier websites

I do not have that much lift, nor plan to. But JeeperJohn does custom fab. And can hook you up. You will most likely need/want a raised axle side trackbar mount and possibly extended frame mount.

^^^ What he said, buy an 8" and extend the axle mount a bit! just keep your poor steering angles in mind... but i guess that all goes out the window at that height more or less, eh?

I just bought the Clayton HD track bar and bracket for my DD.

why the hell would you need 8-9 inches of lift? with that much of a lift it sounds like a rollover waiting to happen!
