I asked a question because I didn't Know. If I knew, I wouldn't of asked.:gag:
Thanks. Helps alot. I don't know what the previous owner was thinking :dunce: about when he lifted the XJ. lol. I think iim going to go with a 5.5"-6" lift. I'll post a thread on the make-over. lol arty:Okay, sorry, I'll try to help.
You can't properly lift an XJ that high.
No one makes springs anywhere near that. If you were to frankenstein junkyard parts together (extra leaves, maybe double coils?) it would be so stiff in the rear and unstable up front, that it would be completely undriveable. Even if you spent more that the rig was worth on custom made springs, the factory drivetrain, steering, and front links would be so out of sorts as to be irrelavant to your build.
To get an XJ to work right at 12" lift, you'd have to rebuild and redesign so much that I (for one) would no longer consider it an XJ at all.
You can run your 33's on 3", if you trim enough. 4.5" would be about perfect, and 6 is more than enough.
12" wouldn't be just unneccesary, but unreasonable, unusable, and really unsafe.
I guess that should be more help...
