WOW. ya did a good job on that one!!

wow thats special

Slip yoke on 5.5" of lift?

Haven't had the money before, but I guess I got to now. The only stuff damaged is what the SYE replaces anyway, so I guess nothing lost. I got lucky.

Yeah you may wanna just bite the bullet and upgrade! :D

Yeah, glad it happened in civilization. Couldve easily came out and/or broke on the trail and might have been harder to fix in the mud.

P.O.R.C. has a cheap SYE or always the HnT...

I went with the AA ans its alot easier to install than it seems. I did it pretty good by myself for the most part.

I dont think my jeep would move at 5.5" with out a slip yoke. haha

I just ordered the PORC SYE, once I get it installed I'll take the measurements and order a driveshaft, I'm leaning towards a Tom Woods shaft right now. Should I be looking into doing a t-case rebuild kit while I have it apart, or is it not worth the money? It's got ~170k on it.

I ran a slipyoke on 5.5" of lift for years. With an earlier XJ, thats not a problem.
I've got a '99, but I'm hoping to go up to ~7 or 8 inches some year, so I might as well get the SYE done now instead of spending money to fix it and then doing it later.

Dumb little clips that hold the u-joint on the axle side yoke are near impossible to find. Dealer's the only place that sells them.

Every auto parts store in america has them, look at the "HELP" wall.

I went to the junkyard and grabbed the u-joint straps off every xj there.

Now I have spares.

I looked at those, but they were significantly shallower than what I had, maybe they're meant to bend into shape, but I wasn't sure. I looked at Autozone and Advance Auto, and a nearby junkyard, but they didn't have any. I'm paying about $4 each from a dealer, so it's not bad.

Any better suggestions on a driveshaft other than Tom Woods? From what I see his are good quality and moderate price.
