Here is how it started!

Was going fine till the front wheels decided to plow me into the hole I was trying to avoid. More to come as I get them!

Ok they tried to winch me from solid ground. I knew it was not going to work but they would not listen All it did was dig my right rear tire in DEEP! That i did not expect. I tried to get them to go to the right but it was too soft.

If we could have put a rig in the muck to pull me straight out with a snatch block, that was left behind, it would have been quicker and easyer on my driveline!

So how long did it take for them to get you out?

Well i was heading home by 5:30 or so. It was not a fun ride home. No one would leave with me to follow me home with my 5 year old son to make sure we got there. But one of the guys did go the same route to make sure we got there. All in all I was stuck about 2 hours. I've got some new ideas for the xj now too. One being a platform made of either 2X8 or 2x12 to bolt to the bottom of the high lift to keep it from digging to china! Sorry man...gotta call it like I see it here...

That is horsesh*t!!! Don't take ofense, I do not know these guys...or you really..but making sure that those you wheel with make it back is a big part of going with a group. Given the incorrect winch angle, and not wanting to make sure you got home...I would find a new group to wheel with.

Sorry to rant...I know that I am only seeing one side of the story, but, DAMN.

um did u have a bumper at the start??

No the front winch bumper is being built. I kinda feel the same way Rev. All and all they are perty good guys, and one of the wives sat with the son on a blanket while we worked. I will say that of the 6-8 or so out there there were only a few that pitched in. My son seemed to have fun even though he did not do much but watch. I was going great till the front started to slide in the muck and put me in that ditch. It was like clay but black. Cleaning the mud tires was not an option. It just stuck like glue.

Yes thatwould be mine in the album.

Are Ben and Glenn both your boys and are they twins? My twin boys are only 3, but I look forward to a built-in recovery team once they get a little bigger.

Looks like your wheeling buddies were trying to recovery your body and leave the rear axle in the goo.

That sucks Ghost that they would leave you hanging like that. Even an inexperience wheeler that does silly/dumb stuff will get an escort, in fact, we just had an episode of that last week...a "friend" of mine that enjoys solo trail riding wound up stuck on a stump in the swampish side of the forest...he called me and since my xj was on blocks for the week Fred volunteered his xj on 33's to rescue the stocker...we never go on a mission like this alone so my wife with the 5.2 zj on 31"truxus mt's went with fred and hugh took his xj on 31x12.5 procomp xterrains to be the escape vehicle if every thing went totally wrong...it almost did...we wound up the the zj stuck, fred stuck, and the original stuck xj stuck. It was so jammed on the stump that the zj and xj tied together couldnt pop him off, not that they could get enough traction to pull too hard. Using a comealong and snatch block we were slowly able to able to begin unsticking. The stocker finally popped off the stump with a bang and we all were able to get out. After 2 hours. And we followed him all the way back to town. You never know whats going to come undone underneath the heep when its been punished. Oh and I didnt mention that fred took a rotten pine tree through the windshield on the trail in and we bent the tow hook on the wifes zj...and she gets pissed when she's stuck. :flamemad:

Yea the rear was plowing mud. As things progressed and after talking to one of the guys today that helped, I found out why they would not go further out. Apparently where the winching cj is sitting is the only dry ground untill you get half way up the hill. Und the 4 popper xj was reeling him in! :)

Would you be refering to these two? Yep they are twinns, and that was taken about 2 years ago when they were 3! They are five now and Glenn went on his second jeep club trip to get to see this!
Apparently jeeps and twinns are in the water here. Sevec? (sp) in Grece has twinns too and it seems like I have read about another set or two n the board. We need to have a NAXJA Twinn Fest!

Damn yellow that remindes me of when I lived in Vero Beach! There were more mud holes with in a few miles of my house then Carter had liver pills!

How did that happen(driveshaft) was it the front or back?
That would be my rear shaft! It's a 84 with a 94 2.5L in it. Seems like I've broken more stuff than some of the 4.0L guys! Like Sequoia said Sunday "What kind of gas are you running in that thing!" Or today, "there is no doubt you aren't afraid of the skinny pedal!" I think I need to drive monster trucks or tough trucks bc I have a tendacy to put on a good show. But I really don't do it intentially! I am working on the finess driving technique but that shoe is hard to hold up with all that lead in it. looked under the jeep today and saw a small puddle of tcase fluid. So at least the coke bottle trick worked. I did not pump all the atf fluid out in 10 miles or less!

all i can is. damn, Glenn you da man.
next time call me i'll come get you out and follow you home.

I do not doubt that one bit Mark. If there is one thing I have learned about the people here is they are like me! Do what you got to do to get everyone and there vehical home if at all possiable. Well lets jsut say that the trips I take are goign ot center around NAXJA and not them. I will go with them to Uwharrie when they go but I will be sure that one of my NAXJA budies is there close. IE: you and Woodie! And that is b/c I think you guys are more capable of helping me. Most of these guys run CJ's and FSJ. And are very new to the 4.0 and other XJ/TJ ideosecracies. If that makes any sence. What really irritated me was that the reason I was trying to get through there was to get across so we could get on the power line trail. I cannot wait to get my winch mounted! If I would of had it on it woudl have been an entirely different story all together.

Hooked On Phonics worked for you, huh big guy?

You guys invited him, you said so yourself. If your pals and you would have had a little integrety maybe someone would have made sure he made it home okay. Instead you guys ignore the kid with the limp and shove off on your merry ways.

This whole thread would have been a memory a week ago if someone in your group, at least the stooge who invited him, would have treated him like a guest.

You can shove your Grand and CJ up your ass because he probably would rather have someone who has half a clue help him next time instead of drag his rig sideways through the mud.

Screw YOU pal. Appearently, Real Jeeps have DICKS for drivers too.

Apparently I was missundertood. Sorry guys if I offened you. If there is more to say here feel free to post away. Once again Sorry ORAJC!
