My friend just called me a little while ago and told me he blew his diff in his 2001 TJ with a dana 35 in rear with 4.11's.
my question is: in the dana 35 in xj's are the carriers the exact same tj 35's?
i know he'll need to get new ring and pinion and master kit but it would save him some money if he could snag a carrier and some spider gears from the local pick-n-pull and not have to buy brand new ones.
Thanks

I believe the carrier depends on the gears.......so it depends on what ratio your XJ has.
He could always run whatever gears you have and pull the front ds until he could re-gear.

yep same carriers, I think the break was 3.73 and up IIRC.

An XJ and a TJ D35 uses the same differential. I think the D35 carrier break is between 3.31 and 3.54. So if you have a carrier for 3.54, it will work with his 4,10s.
