New owner here I was wanting to put a set of 31x10x15 under my XJ.
What will I have to do. I read in a mag that 31`s will work with no lift kit.

I had 31's on mine for a while, until i got a 3'' lift. They fit , but would rub on tight turns.

At least 3"
I rubbed worn BFG 31's until I did a 3"BB.
Just put on a fresh set of Kuhmo MT's and I get no rub anywhere.

i don't know if your xj is a up country version like mine, but bend the little fender reinforcement behind the front bumper. you can always cut it also. i cut mine. no complaints. i can't really explain it, here's a link though. http://members.tripod.com/daniel7310/05e2ce10.jpg stock with 31x10.50 bfg's
