Thank you for reserving a tent spot for March 4 thru March 6. We will be open, however fue to circumstances our shower house will not be completed till April 1. We will have clean port-a-pots available on the grounds. We look forward to having you stay with us.

Those showers were open last year...in February.
Considering the number of people we have coming, I would strongly suggest someone take the reins here and see what can be done to remedy this.
I will not be camping here if this remains the case.
I would make the call, but I doubt it would be diplomatic.

I will be calling them, again, today. I told them back in Dec. we were coming to their CG for Winterfest, that was why it was moved to March, they wern't open in Feb.
Why the hell they didn't 'remodel' their shower rooms during the winter is beyond me!
$30.00 is a lot to spend on a campground that has no facilities!

I am planning on camping, River sounds OK but I don't think my wetsuit is thick enough for comfort. What other options are there? And you bet that $30 for a camp site is a tad high.

I think the $3.00 per shower is for non-campers if they want to shower after leaving the Badlands. It does state public price, we would be referred to as campers.

If the campground is not willing to accomodate us, considering that they would otherwise not have any business, then perhaps we should consider a different location for next year. I think that if the owners of The Badlands Offroad Park knew that we are less likely to return en mass next year due to problems with the campground, then perhaps they could apply some pressure as well. Maybe try contacting the park, Sean? The customer is always right, afterall. It might also be effective if all those who were planning on camping called up to air their concerns over the shower situation so that the campground owner had a better idea of how much business he faces losing over this matter. :mad:

Unless of course, they are both run by the same guy, in which case this approach may not be so effective. All the more reason to move elsewhere next year.

Winterfest was never like this before.
We showed in Feb., slept where we parked, and wheeled in subzero weather.
To be clear, I bitched about having Winterfest in OK.
I would do it again, twice.
OK is *not* Winterfest.
That is fact.
I never cared for the pantload that runs the campground at the park, and have never stayed there, but I was going to give it a chance, to be with friends.
I rented a trailer to camp and have fun, but I will not pay $30 to park in a field and shit in a plastic box.
Feel free to have it in OK, even this year.
I won't miss anyone, too much.

I called the owner of the Badlands, the park not the field, he is very sympathetic and has been on the owner of the Badlands, the field, to get his ass in gear and finish the showers.

I called Summers campground, I pleaded and begged for them to open to open for us, we will see.

I was told the the Badlands CG is for sale and someone is looking at buying it.

Perhaps a new owner will improve the pasture.

Be it known, I will discourage EVERYONE form staying at the BLCG, unless the owner comes through for us!
