I'm looking for a small battery that is light weight to handle starting duties in my MG project. It has a Mazda Rotary motor from a second generation RX-7 Turbo in it. There isn't much else that will run off the system except a mild stereo, so it's primarily just a starting battery. If you guys know of anything I'd appreciate it. The weight distribution is almost perfect(the motor actually sits halfway in the tranny tunnel. So I'm not looking to balance out the rear of the car with a heavy battery. Budget is ~100$ Thanks

What you need is a Predator battery, Summit and Jegs carry them. They have some tiney ones that are just as potent as a big Optima.

If all it does is start the thing, you might try a gell cell or amotorcycle battery

ORGS MFG for a good writeup on Oddessy batteries
Mark is a solid sponsor/member. I don't think he'd steer folks wrong.

Optima also makes a 3 cell version of their batteries.
