I thought i had it lined up good....Spot welded it, took it out and finish welded it.... Reinstalled, and the pinion is too high....:(
Do I Grind, Cut, Reweld or just shim it??

If you are only off by a degree or two, just weld on a shim.

I'm with Dave - a welded shim'll be fine if you wind-up being too high with the weight on the ground!

the way ive set pinion angle before is slap the perches on there put it under the truck, crank down on the u bolts, then with the weight on the truck put a jack under the pinion and jack it up to where it needs to be.
in your case its too late for that. id cut grind and do it right then re weld. no sense in spending all that time just to half ass it in the end, ya know?

I agree, i have a good cutoff wheel...
Now for aiming...... I am running a 242 with Tom woods SYE and Shaft and about 6.5" Lift......
Do I aim the pinion at the output of the t-case?
