Aw4

Hey guys, was wondering if there is a way to tell what year aw4 I have? Tranny and engine has been but not sure what year the donor was. Trying to match a TCU to it for a swap. Thanks again

Assuming it's a '91+...and my memory is right...the '91-96 engine will have the MAP sensor mounted on the firewall. The '97+ should be mounted to the throttle body itself.

TCU should be the same '91-96 and then '97+.

Unless someone swapped things around of course.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Sounds good, the issue that I'm having is that the tranny is in a 02 jeep TJ buggy. Fire wall is gone and so is the Xj. Swapping the aw4 into my TJ, can't remember but someone said 97-01 had to sensors on the tranny, any idea? I do know its a "newer style" aw4 as it has the 23 spline. Thanks
