I am new to wheeling and bought a 92 Xj about a year ago. I am just finishing a Ford 8.8 with an Ox Locker and a re gear (4.56) right now. I have put in an internal cage, bumpers, winch, rock sliders, 4" lift, 33's, etc.
As I am learning I have heard that it's a good idea to reinforce the unibody. I guess my question is, is there a "shelf life" on the unibody when the vehciel is primarily used for wheeling? I have done some moderate trails and I will be going over the rubicon and some other harder stuff this summer.
Will the unibody eventually come apart even with frame stiffeners and how long will it take (probably 5 to 6 hard trails a year)?
Thank you for your help.
