2000 xj being towed wiring questions

so i am going to tow my 2000 xj behind my motorhome with a towbar.
i need to wire up the tail, brake, & signal lights.
how do i do this without backfeeding power & f'ing up the jeep?

also, i know you need the steering wheel unlocked while towing.
do you just leave the key in the on position or aux position?
wont this kill the battery on long drives? :explosion

get some magnetic lights? how about leaving the key on and disconnecting the batt?

Im sure someone will chime in with the proper info

I just put extra bulbs in the housings and then ran 4 hole wire to the front bumper. Check out the Readybrute towbar system. It has a wiring kit for this.

For the ignition: from the off position turn clockwise one click. This unlocks the steering but does not power anything. Use your spare key and lock the doors with your fob when you are ready to take off.

Tcase: Put trans in N then shift tcase to N, then shift trans back to park. You're ready to go.
