ZJ transmission swap.. Now what?

97 Zj 5.2..

Transmission swap issues..

I swapped in a ZJ 46re, to replace my perfectly fine 44re..

I used the 5.2 flexplate (internally balanced). And the 46re torque converter, everything lined up..

The jeep starts a little rough, I have a p0320 code for crank position sensor

But the real issue is, it will run just fine in Park, as soon as you shift it into a Gear, Or neutral.. It instantly dies.. If you restart it in neutral, it will run for 1 second and die

I believe this is an electronic issue.. Anyone have an Idea?

My best guess is you need the correct pcm for a 5.2 and the trans yiu swapped

From what I have read the 46RE swap should be direct, no other PCM needed. Could you have possibly damaged the crank sensor when installing or removing the transmission?

Check to see if the converter is staying locked. I had this problem on a ZJ once. A new TCC sensor fixed it.
