wierd click clank noise from rear...

I did some research and I am guessing my problem is the pinion angle is too high. Someone recommended I pick up some shims... anyone want to comment on this? I am guessing what a 2* shim should do it...?

Yeah your angles are wrong. With your driveshaft the output shaft and the pinion need to be parallel like this:

You have it setup like you have a CV driveshaft, which you don't, like this:

Get you pinion parallel with the output shaft and the problem should go away, but you'll probably have others. Or get a cv driveshaft.

actually i think i know where the noise is comming from now... it has gotten louder and more pronounced... i believe its comming from the front drive shaft, and me being poor right now I think i am gonna take out the front drive shaft and run 2wd until i get enough money to fix this shit.

What could be causing the front to make the noise. I cannot figure mine out because the front looks like it is not at as steep an angle as the rear, which is what led me to believe it was the rear.

well i am just remembering when i replaced the U joints last year... the guys said the fronts where bad and needed replaced but i just did the rear cause i had no money.

I checked my front d/s earlier and it did not appear to be rubbing. When the rubbing started I could feel it like it was right below me, not in the rear as I had previously assumed. If you figure it out, please let me know cause this grinding noise makes me nervous.
