where is this hose coming from? [pic inside]

so i had some issues with my starter and after fixing it, i noticed this hose dangling down that wasnt there from before and i was wondering if anyone here knows what its from? and its a 89 xj and as u can see its right by the starter on the right side of the vehicle

Yes. The a/c system has to let out the condensation somewhere, and that tube is it.

hmm, but there is quite alot of this green fluid stuff, all over the starter/transmission/engine bay after noticing this hose??

I'm not sure but I think if the heater core leaks the fluid could drain out that tube or the leak could be coming from somewhere higher up like the heater hoses or valve.
