Not everyday you get to see one of these. I tried to get closer to get better pics But honest everytime I got close my camera would go weird and fuzzy.

The F-111 on display is one that I personally worked on. The museum is now about twice the size than it was when I arrived here over eleven years ago.

One complaint that visitors to the AF museum at Wright - Patterson have is how auto focus cameras will not focus on the F-117 they have. Being that the SR is classed as a "semi stealth" design, it's no suprise!
BTW, ain't the Bone COOL!!!

No, but most cameras are focused by energy waves (mostly IR) and the F-117 is of course a stealth fighter whose shape tends to bend the waves away and NOT reflected back to the camera. I've never actually talked to anyone who has seen this phenomenon in person. Might be an urban myth. It also could be that the plane is so dark in color that the camera won'tfocus well. That's common.
I do know that in the first Gulf War that many bats were killed in the hangers in Saudi running into the planes.

I was there in 1991.
I went there to compete in a Karate Tournament.
fought four guys, (in one afternoon) eventually taking first place.

oh yeah, the museum was cool too!

That black bird there is pretty cool. Everytime I went there (I was stationed there for 10 years) was to see it. I would love to get my hands that start cart, two twin buick racing engines. Check the exhaust out on the cart next time your there. Straight off the header. One of my buds used to work on those and he said the where LOUD.

I love That place. We go there once a year and then over to impact arms!
When I was roofing houses I loved to work up in layton. We would watch the fighters coming in and out all day long.
:us:

Took our scouts there two months ago. We actually got a guided tour. Those old guys that volunteer there sure know a lot. I learned 10x more on that guided tour than I did the last half dozen times I went just to look around.

Cool pix, SR-71 and A-10 my two favorite planes. Also the fartherest apart in jets.
