Update on the tire situation. Alan told me to reach out to a fellow xj guy julio lopez here in reno and he knocked it out of the park. He said he had never patched a hole that big before. So we will see how it does on the trail. I flipped the tire on the rim. The outside takes a lot more abuse. But it looks great.

RenoRun2021 was awesome. This chassis is on its last legs but man does it work well. I need to pull the windshield and replace it with something. Im leaning towards plexi but not sure.

Enjoyed wheeling with you again.

As for the windshield replacement, look into a product called Margard 10 (MR10). Its similar to Lexan but is scratch resistant. I know someone who replaced their glass with this. I don't know if it is expensive or not.

Thx eric. I’ll look into that tomorrow

That is of great help to me. No more agonizing over welding a truss. I will just spring for an axle bracket kit and the tubes then I will be good to go.

I saw online a wire harness kit for the locker that I need to get unless I can get connectors then make my own harness.

Great info my friend.

GordoSmasho, Back at you again after almost 2 years.

I am finally getting my Rubicon D44 together to put under my XJ. I have or identified everything I need except the track bar and drag link. What length did you use for both the drag link and track bar. None of the regular suppliers have any idea what is needed. I know I will have to re-work what I have but, were do I start?

So for the drag link I customized mine. I shortened the currie one i bought. But many manufacturers will build you a custom length unit. I would put the axle under the rig and measure.

As far as track bar i put an xj bracket from rustys. I out it in the xj location on the axle so i can just use an standard xj track bar.

Had an awesome time out at the rtf property. Looking forward to Sierrafest.

Oscars anxiety gets the best of him on the trail. This is where he spends most of his time while we are tossed around in the jeep.

A revolution for me is using microwave breakfast bowls and tossing them in a skillet. Friggin amazing

Went out and ran fordyce for the first time last weekend. Didnt take to many pics. Great trail. Want to to it tip to tail next season. Blew my third power steering line in a year. So i might have one custom made as a last effort to avoid hydo assist.

You need assist with those big tires if you've blown 3 PS lines in a year. box is working way too hard trying to move the 37s especially when the front is locked.

No snow? How far in did you guys go?

To be fair this was the first new line. And it didn’t blow blow. Just 5-6 pin holes. Gonna try one more time. Its honestly almost effortless if it can keep the fluid in it. I rarely wrench on the steering wheel. If it doesn’t want to move then i don’t force it.

Gordo I have a 6 inch psc ram that got sent to me by mistake, you can have if you want to go hydro assist.

Which trail and obstacle was that on? ...so we know to avoid it:wow:
