upper control arm XJ

I'm sorry I don't know the functions of this forum very well I spend all my time at the lathe, welder and changing poopie diapers. How do I PM Cal, I want to be as ligit for yall as possible. Sorry I don't have a site up yet only my parts on eBay. I am working on it but I'm only one guy. Without ghost hounding me I wouldn't have made it this far. I don't mind the feed back even the question about the welds etc. is good for this business because we need to question what kind of crap companies are selling us. I spent an hour on the phone with a customer today who ended up losing his front axle out of the front of his jeep at 60 mph because of somebody elses over priced underbuilt crap! Safety always comes first in this business. BRAKES AND STEERING!!!!!!!! anyone else with me on this. chrome wont get you home. heh. enough of my rants night guys Ive got parts to build in the morning happy wheeling. O by the way I sold my beloved XJ to start this business just to show how much this means to me this is what I had to part with.

I've been talking with Ghost Andy, he's got my info.

If its easier for you, just email me - [email protected]

I'll be leaving in a day for King of the Hammers, so it may take me a little more than a week to get back to you.

Dang Andyxjyj that thing that you built and parted with is super cool! I am not sure how stable you are in the mental area to part with something like that. Just kidding. You must really want to be self employed. I salute you.

I see some vendors have adjustable lower control arms that you just leave the jam nuts loose for flexing. Why could a person not do the same with yours? I know the threads would wear faster but I suppose they could be loosened for wheeling and tightened back up for highway use.

thin as in the tubing wall thicknees or tubing OD.

look about the same as my RE upper control arms

orrin,

i wouldnt run poly bushings without a flex joint at the other end, the arm needs to twist when the axle droops.

Rubicon expresses lifts use a rubber bushing there, even the superflex versions, they all do. Thats the only reason i still have a rubber bushing on mine, but my bushing there is shot haha. upper control arms arent as much of a big deal as lower control arms i dont think, could be wrong though

I would never encourage anyone to leave a jam nut loose for flex or any other scary reason. Worn out threads mean a very dangerous truck. That is a foolish and dangerous notion in my book. I encourage guys that want to buy an arm with a flex joint to do so for their purpose. If you are looking for gobs of flex I encourage the Rubicon long arm kit. While it may be pricey It works very well.

Hey, Your Control Arms look great. I will definetly get some UCAs and LCAs soon. I like to see a Independant guy who makes good quality parts. How is your Tracbar?

Andy will be down this weekend helping me with my D60 swap. I'm hoping he will have some arms and a trackbar for me to photograph and look at.

Here is the bracket you were wondering about.

He will not be using it much longer is my understanding. There is a frame mount in the works.
