trashed XJ in Nashville

Maybe you should hide the keys. It is hilarious how 3/4 of the wrecks people post on online forums are from someone either borrowing or stealing thier car. Does no one ever learn?

This is why I do not lend vehicles to friends.

If they want my vehicle going anywhere, I am going to be behind the wheel.

That being said, most of my friends are afraid of my deathtraps, so it isn't much of a problem.

I did, he memorized the key code, keeps making new keys. And his is a mechanic. Keeps figuring out how I disable it.

Since he wants to be a PITA like that next time you leave town take the ecu with you then he's just SOL.

He has two spare ECUs for it. The one from the right hand drive XJ we fixed it with, and the one he bought for it last week trying to fix and engine miss. At least he does the maintenance, repairs and upgrades for free.

What really grinds my gears is when I come home and find he also has my 09 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi Sport and Yamaha Roadstar, with his uninsured P.O.S. 04 Ford Ranger sitting at my companies employee parking lot:gonnablow

You're not the only one who's had an incident with a school bus lol. This was like 3 years ago, but it is still the worst day of my life to date.

In my case, it was terminal. The front bumper BARELY missed the bumper of the bus, so all of the impact went straight into the grill/rad support/engine. Both motor mounts sheared off and pushed the engine into the firewall. But it was replaced with this :)

Next time you leave town, take the registration, insurance cards, and license plates off every car you own and lock them up. See if he can replace those.

Honestly, if I'd told him not to use my stuff, I'd report it stolen or vandalized and let the police sort it out.

It sounds like you need to stop parking it where he can get at it. Or take him to court / file a stolen vehicle report on it next time he does this. Seriously, that's not cool.

If that isn't acceptable you are enabling him, he needs to learn that no means no...
